Ants are the top household pest in the U.S. While helpful to the environment, they can contaminate food and damage property. Their large numbers and complex behavior make them hard to control. Many pest professionals seek better ant solutions.
Millipedes are slow-moving, segmented arthropods with two leg pairs per segment that feed on decaying plant matter, helping decompose organic material and enrich soil; though harmless, some can release skin-irritating chemicals for defense.
Earwigs are slender, nocturnal insects with pincers on their abdomen, found in dark, damp areas where they feed on decaying matter and small insects; despite myths, they don’t crawl into ears or pose a serious threat, though they may occasionally harm garden plants.
Silverfish are small, wingless insects with a silvery sheen and fish-like movements, often found in damp areas like bathrooms and basements. They feed on starchy materials such as paper, glue, and clothing, causing gradual damage despite being harmless to humans.
Centipedes are fast, nocturnal predators with one leg pair per segment and venomous fangs used to hunt insects and other small creatures; their bite is rarely harmful to humans but may cause mild irritation.
Cockroaches are flat, oval insects with fast-moving legs. German (5/8"), Brownbanded (5/8"), and Oriental (1") cockroaches are dark brown; Oriental males have full wings, females don’t. American cockroaches (1.5") are reddish brown with eye-like markings. Smokybrown cockroaches (1.25–1.5") are mahogany brown.
